It's a start

The Democrats realize they're fighting a loser with the OCS drilling ban. They are now going to let the offshore drilling ban expire.

Of course, they'll still do everything in their power to block any drilling. The only reason they will drop the ban is election day is only a month or so away and they know they'd get clobbered if they didn't do something.

So, do you'll have gas in Kentucky?

As far as I know we do. We've a Ashland/Marathon refinery about 15 up river from us, so we should be okay.

15 as in 15 miles... it's still early here so the fingers aren't quite awake.

It bothers me that our "representatives" in Washington DC seem to be our enemies so much of the time. I can't think of one good reason to ban drilling anywhere the oil companies think there's a good supply of oil. Of course I'm not an envirowacko either, but even their reasons don't seem to contain one good reason either.

I don't understand it either, Fish. On the Dem's side I'd guess their base includes 99.9% of America's tree-huggers, which is a probably a fairly large number. So they don't want to upset those folks.

That's just a guess, of course. And reason and logic isn't what drive leftists and their supporters. It's "feelings" that matter most to them. That particular emotion is great when in love and listening or playing music (that doesn't include rap, hip-hop, etc.) But, using it when governing normally results in wacky, nonsensical laws.

You can't start up a socialist government with armed citizens. Obama is socialist. check out his past.
