Tune it or lose it

I can tune my guitars by ear and do a fair job of it. However, when I change strings I like to use my battery powered Seiko tuner to be sure. Well, today at string changing time I find that the 9V battery in it is dead and there's not one anywhere in the house.

So, I went to the Internet and found this little number, plus this one.

What did we do before we had the Internet? It's awesome.

As an added bonus, think about what we did before we had these things? To be fair I shouldn't include myself in that "we", I'm a bit of a trogdolyte when it comes to cell phones. I rarely use or carry ours.

Hey, that's really cool. Especially the first one.

My youngest son plays guitar. When he first took it up as a teenager I bought him one of those electronic boxes to help him tune it, and like you, he's become quite good at tuning by ear - but that helped him learn. He still has that original Radio Shack electronic tuner. I'll send him the link to the Gibson on line tuner though.

Yep, if you play a guitar that's one you want to bookmark. It sure came in handy for me.

I'll still get a 9V battery for my tuner though as it has a meter that tells you when you're dead on at 440 Hz

I'm not sure what that means but when the needle goes dead center to440 Hz the string is in perfect pitch. Too bad that still after years of playing I can't do it perfectly, but I enjoy playing so that's all that matters, I guess.

Yep, the one we bought for our son has a place to plug in an electric guitar to tune it, or a microphone to pick up the sounds from an acoustic.
