Ah, hitting the nail on the head

"Because half-a-dozen grasshoppers under a fern make the field ring with their importunate chink, whilst thousands of great cattle, reposed beneath the shadow of the British oak, chew the cud and are silent, pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field; that of course they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little shrivelled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome insects of the hour."

That's from Edmund Burke and I thought it sure does sum up a lot of the stuff the mainstream media churns out. I especially liked the loud and troublesome insects bit - reminds me of Chris Matthews, Geraldo, the unhinged buffoon Keith Olbermann, and a host of other talking heads and big city newspaper types.

I found it at a really good article by a Doc who was a Navy shrink during the Vietnam War. In case you missed it it's at American Thinker.

Interesting take on the distrust the intellectuals feel for capitalism. Seems feasable enough.

Overall a fairly intelligent piece by the Doctor.
