Geez, was it that long ago?

I definitely remember number 2, bbn.com. Really, I do.

After shedding the uniform in '85 I got hired as a Air Force civil servant through the Vietnam Veterans Assistance Plan (or sumtin' like that). Anyway, one of my first jobs was writing software test plans for an Air Force program that linked all the supply points in USAFE (that's Air Force in Europe). One of the contractors we worked with was Bolt Beranek and Newman.

Bolt Beranek and Newman? BBN, what else? Or bbn.com when I would email them from my eds.mil account.

That was back in the days when our UNIX mini-computer (about as big as a refrigerator) had 64M of RAM. We thought we were really special with all the computin' power. :-)

Several rather obvious and expected names on that list. One that's near and dear to my heart is UTC.com. I draw a little pension check from those dear folks each month.

Well, I'm glad for your sake also, Fish! :-)
