Criminal Justice Industrial Complex

"Instead of correction and rehabilitation, what we have is... a "criminal justice industrial complex" where “the police, the courts and the prison system have become huge, self-serving and self-perpetuating bureaucracies... ”

That's excerpted from an interesting (and kind of depressing) article by an upper middle class white guy just released from the pen. Interesting point of view, definitely some food for thought.
