A Master Sergeant in the Air Force is pay grade E-7. The next paygrade, E-8, is a Senior Master Sergeant. Here's a Master Sergeant that I doubt really cares whether he makes E-8 or not.
But, then again, he might just have enough pride and ambition that he might want it. You never know.
