Since becoming a much less-travelled soul I wasn't aware of airport-friendly shoes.
I suppose if you frequently did your travelling by air then these would be the thing to have your feet shod in.
However, I couldn't help but notice that they resemble western boots. In fact, I've several pair in the closet that resemble those.
Here I am ready for the airport and didn't even know it!

If luck be with me I'll never need to worry about that. If I never have to fly anywhere again I will consider myself blessed indeed. I love cowboy boots, have worn them a lot over the years, but don't have a single pair right now. It seems everything I wear on my feet are either dress shoes or tennis shoes (with tennis shoes being the majority usage these days).
Me also, Fish. It won't break my heart if I never fly again.
Thinking about it, my day-to-day footwear is clodhoppers or, as my Mom called them while I was growing up, brogans.
OK, the slip ons are airport friendly and so too are the flip flops. Boots? Still gotta work to get 'em off and on. Trust me. I not only fly for a living, I work in the damn airport. I go thru the ever lovin security line to teach, to get lunch, to go pee... seems like for everything.
Since I lived in Japan before here, and they take off there shoes at home, in many resturants, even a lot of offices, i already had a good collection of ez on shoes.
I actually love cowboy boots also and own about 7 pair. Mostly exotics (lizard, ostrich, alligator, etc) but 2 pair I will work in.
Lastly, when I was a kid we mostly wore the square toe work boot with the ez lace devices near the top. My mom also called them "brogans". I hadnot heard that term in years.
Brogan, a term from the Civil War if I recall correctly.
