Cold War intercepts

Some recent history - US Navy and Air Force fighters intercepting Soviet aircraft. Check out the next to the last picture. I didn't realize that the Soviet Backfire was that large, it's huge!

Yeah, and Fish is mentioned a bunch of times in there, but there's no geneology for that name.

Thought never crossed my mind, Fish. For some reason I always thought you of primarily German ancestry. Was I close?

Quite a mixture by the time it came down to me, but my understanding is our name originated in Germany. You get an A+

Yeah, I know the "quite a mixture" thing. I've been doing the genealogy thing now for about 10 years and it's quite a blend with Anglo/Scots-Irish being the predominant flavor.

Sorry I'm late. Been traveling again.

We used to get low level overflights of our ships by Russian Bears all the time. Especially when we'd do things like show up in Vladivostok unannounced. But also in the gulf and northern pacific. They were quite beautiful, actually. I was always impressed by them.

Ed'R, I bet you're one of the few people who can spell Vladivostok. The Navy certainly did you well!
