A whale of a tale

Sorry, I couldn't resist. But, it is true that a whale has been spotted in central London. Well, actually in the Thames River near central London.

BTW, did you ever wonder why the Brits insist on complicating things? Wouldn't it be simpler to write "seven ton whale" versus "seven-tonne whale". Why the hyphen? Why the extra "n" and "e"? Why?

Also, I'm surprised that the fact that the whale is so far off course wasn't attributed to global warming and America's refusal to join the Kyoto protocols. But, it's early yet and there will likely be time before this saga ends and some tree hugger can make that very point.

It's all George Bush's fault!
