Unintended consequences

Those sharp minds that we send to the House have done it again. Passed a law to fight crime, but have written it so loosely that Mr and Mrs Law Abiding Citizen could get nailed under it for merely trying to defend themselves. The Senate version is S. 155. It's co-sponsored by the leftist idiot Dianne Feinstein and doesn't-have-a-clue Orrin Hatch, so you know it can't be good for gun rights.

The GOA has all the gory details and, as always, a sample letter that you can send off to your Senator, if you so desire.

I'm no longer amazed at anything that comes out of the beltway. I think they need to post signs at the beltway that says "Reality Stops Here". They could throw out all twenty three thousand plus gun laws in this country (all passed for the single reason of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals), and pass just one law that says you go to prison for fifty years if you use a gun in the commission of a crime against people. If you can't keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys, keep the bad guys out of the general population.

True, they do some pretty crazy stuff up there in D.C. One of my pet theories is that who in their right mind would voluntarily want to work and spend time in Washington D.C.? So you know from the get-go that these guys (and gals) aren't the brightest bulbs in the package.
