MTV - Norwegian Army style

Continuing with Frivolous Friday, its 80s MTV, compliments of the Norwegian Army. Awesome! Hat tip to Argghhh!

Actually, Jim, there is a some flak over it. The Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia (I think) has issued an apology and the Norwegian Army is "investigating". I believe the details are at the Arrgggh blog, further down the page.

Very funny piece, I hope they don't go too hard on the Norwegian grunts.

The Brits also have done one to the song Amarillo. It's at military.com (you have to register, but it's free) and burrow your way into the video archive, but there's also lots of other stuff there that's interesting. Only downer is military.com is owned by monster.com, whose founder is anti-2nd amendment, which naturally grates my nerves. But...

Here's the description of the Brit flick:

"Watch as British troops in the Royal Dragoon Guards perform a music video of "(Is This the Way to) Amarillo". Filmed at their Al Faw base in Iraq, the video is a spoof of Tony Christie's song. Although the song was written by two Americans, the song became famous in the UK. Judging by this video, moral remains high in Iraq.
