He pegged it: A-B-S-U-R-D

I'm sorry, but you are never, ever going to get the Ol' Sarge here to bear any responsibility for the sins of my Father (or Grand or Great Grand or Great-Great Grand, ad infinitum, all the way back to Adam). Don't even think it, don't bring the subject up around me as I don't like using profane language.

But, obviously some folks that don't feel that way.

What a bunch of idiots. How can someone be held responsible for actions that took place before they were born??

Lee Greenwood was not thinking about this kind of crap when he penned the line "I'm proud to be an American".

Actually, I always hated that song until it became synonymous with supporting the troops, fighting wars, etc. Then I had to quit hating it. The part that ticked me off when it first came out was the line about "I'd gladly stand up next to you...blah, blah, blah" because I figured if there was a shooting war going on the likelihood of a big singing star chucking it all to go enlist was remote. As I mellow some I give him a little more credit for sincerity, although I still say Tillman was an anomaly.
