Check that password - it might not be all that secure
That Google post got me thinking about online security. I've used this website over the past year or so to check just how secure my passwords are. Try out some of the passwords that you use online... you might be unpleasantly surprised. I was.
That's good. I've read most folks use simple passwords so they can remember them. I used to just combine numbers and letters for passwords. Which was okay, but that website showed me how the addition of just one special character could make a big difference in password security. It was an eye-opener.

thanks for the tip! fortunately, my passwords, or at least similar ones, are pretty safe.

"or similar ones".. I overlooked that in your comment, somehow. Yes, that's what I do also. I don't enter the actual password.
Hopefully, anyone else that tries that site will be as intuitive in that regard. You can't be too safe when it comes to passwords.
There is no such thing as a 'secure' password-- ask any programmer.
I would lay odds that is a true statement. However, some passwords are more secure than others. Agree?
